DSU’s Center for Teaching & Learning Awards Mini-Grants
Dixie State University’s Center for Teaching & Learning has awarded Four-Learning Innovation Mini-Grants to various faculty members on campus.
This year, Wendy Schatzberg, Steve Armstrong and Cindy King, Buna Sambandham and Vinodh Chellamutu, along with Matt Harris and Helen Saar were granted this opportunity to develop new ways to improve student learning. With these mini-grants, they will pursue projects that integrate inventive practices or new technologies to impact student success and retention. Near the end of spring semester 2019, recipients will then present their findings at the 5th Annual DSU Teaching & Learning Conference on March 29, 2019.
"This program and these awards send a clear message to faculty members that DSU encourages and supports innovation in learning, which directly impacts student success and retention,” said Bruce Harris, the associate provost of faculty affairs and director of the Center for Teaching & Learning.
At its core, the center is there to promote and support both excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. By implementing a multitude of services that include course planning and assistance, workshops and conferences, educational technology training, classroom/department evaluation and consultation, the center has made a conscious effort to improve teaching and learning at DSU.
