New Student Orientation Your Way

By Brett Coleman, UMAC Intern

Going to university for the first time is exciting but can come with some uncertainty. Luckily, we have New Student Orientation to help you pre and feel ready to go! Our orientation is a crash course on becoming a Trailblazer, our campus resources, and our traditions. This year, due to COVID-19, we are offering 3 ways for you to complete your orientation.

In-Person Orientation

For in-person orientation, you’ll come to campus, be given a University branded mask, and receive training from many of our campus leaders. Here you’ll be able to experience campus firsthand through a tour, entering in giveaway for swag and parking passes, and making connections with fellow Trailblazers, your academic advisor, and peer coaches.

Dates for upcoming in-person orientations:

  • Friday, July 10
  • Thursday, July 16
  • Friday, July 17
  • Thursday, July 30
  • Friday, July 31
  • Friday, August 7
  • Friday, August 14
  • Monday, August 17
  • Tuesday, August 18

Virtual Orientation

If you aren’t able to come to campus quite yet, but don’t want to miss out on connections, virtual orientation is a great option for you. Similar to in-person orientation you’ll hear from our campus leaders and connect with others all via Zoom.

Dates for Virtual Orientation:

  • Wednesday, July 8
  • Wednesday, August 5

Online Orientation

This option is all via an online learning module and is made up of prerecorded videos. It gives you the most flexibility, while still teaching you about campus resources and how to be an amazing Trailblazer. There’s even a message just for you from our University president.

However you choose to learn about becoming a Trailblazer, we can’t wait to see you on campus this fall! To learn more about New Student Orientation, visit orientation.utahtech.edu.
