The competition included an opening number, introductions, a talent portion, onstage questions, head-to-head rounds and a red carpet walk. The night featured instrumental performances, singing, magic, and a special water show from winner Miles Kindred.

“I was blown away when they called my name,” Kindred said. “There were so many talented participants, so it was very surprising when I won.”

This marks Kindred’s third year competing for the title of Mr. Trailblazer, and after taking the last year off he finally came home with the crown, and a $750 cash prize.

“It was such a fun and entertaining night getting to judge Mr. Trailblazer,” Homecoming Royalty judge Katie Walker said. “It is very admirable for people to get up on stage and show their personalities to a crowd. I am so proud of each of them.”

In a deep Utah Tech Tradition, past Mr. Trailblazer winners were in attendance to pass down the crown. After a night of memorable performances and a packed student crowed, this year’s event affirmed why Mr. Trailblazer is a campus favorite.
