UTEA Students Take the Stage in Spain
By Natali Fluhman
From St. George to Madrid (yeah, that Madrid!)

This March, Utah Tech's Entertainment Alliance (UTEA) trade red rocks for rich culture, hopping a plan and heading straight to Madrid, Spain for their international recruiting tour.
From March 4-13, these performers weren't sightseeing (okay...maybe a little). They were busy doing what they do best: taking the stage, turning heads, and leaving audiences better than they found them.
More than a Performance
UTEA didn't just show up to perform polished routines (though yes, they delivered!). Their goal was bigger than that.
They traveled across Spain's capital to:
- Introduce Utah Tech to international audiences
- Connect with potential future students
- And most importantly, use performances to uplift and inspire
"We go out and make the performance about the audience," Amy Gleave, UTEA director and Fusion coach, said. "We do it for them."
And you can feel that intention in every number.
The Kind of Impact you can't Rehearse
Fusion practices for these performances but they never know how it'll land until they're in the middle of it.
UTEA's shows are rooted in something deeper than entertainment, they're about connection. In a world that can feel overwhelming and disconnected, their message is simple but powerful: you matter, and you're not alone.

Representing Something Bigger
For the students, this wasn't just a trip, it was a core memory.
A chance to represent their university, their teammates, and something bigger than themselves.
"This trip was awesome because it felt like we were representing something bigger than ourselves," Sam Sharp, Fusion performer, said.
And that's what this is all about.
Final Bow
UTEA's Spain tour was more than a recruiting trip, it was a reminder of the power of performances to bring people together.
Not bad for a group that started in St. George, right?
