Corporate Night with the FBI

By Rochelle Blatter

Are you seeking a rewarding career where you can protect your country and community, grow personally and professionally, be part of an elite team, and make a difference every day?  Career Services will be hosting a Corporate Night for the FBI on February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the HCC Zion Room #537.  Students are encouraged to come learn about career opportunities in the FBI.  They hire qualified applicants from all majors. The guest presenter for the evening will be Special Agent Benton Larsen.  He has been an FBI Special Agent for fifteen years.  After graduating from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in English, he then graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1995.  SA Larsen practiced criminal law for seven years, including four years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Twin Falls County, ID, before joining the FBI in 2002.  SA Larsen's first assignment was investigating counterintelligence matters in Washington, D.C.  After five years in D.C., SA Larsen was transferred to Lewiston, ID, where he worked violent crime investigations on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation for four years.  SA Larsen then transferred to the FBI's Salt Lake office and resumed working counterintelligence matters.  In 2013 and 2014, SA Larsen filled a temporary assignment to FBI Headquarters supporting the FBI's International Operations Division, which provided him opportunities to travel to various Asian countries in support of the FBI's mission.  SA Larsen returned to Salt Lake in 2015 and resumed working counterintelligence matters. SA Larsen is currently the Applicant Coordinator/Recruiter of the Salt Lake Division. No RSVP is needed; this event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.  SA Larsen will begin with a presentation followed by Q & A's as well as networking opportunities.  Refreshments will be served. In addition, there will be an information session for faculty/staff at 2 that afternoon in HCC 535.  For questions or for more information, contact Career Services, 435.652.7737.
