EXPLORING STUDY ABROAD

By Erin Severeid

Do you have a desire to travel and see the world? Do you wish you
could learn another language? Do you want to travel and receive college
credit for it? Well, you can! Dixie State University has a wide variety of
study abroad options to choose from.

I would love to travel the world, learn a new language, and get college credit
for it, but I didn’t know where to begin. So, I asked a faculty member about
potentially studying abroad, and they directed me to Jenny Callahan, the program
coordinator. In the brief meeting that I had with her, I learned so much about
the program, how it works, and the value of learning in another culture.

The following are three ways you can learn more about studying abroad.

Attend the Study Abroad Fair

Attend the Study Abroad Fair Tuesday, September 17, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Kenneth N. Gardner Student Center Living Room. At the event you will discover all of the great locations you can explore on your Summer 2020 study abroad adventure. Faculty leaders will be available to answer questions about offered locations. Refreshments will also be served.

Talk to Your Academic Advisor

Interested in studying abroad? Go see your advisor to determine what credits you need and
how a study abroad trip can fit into your academic plan. It will not only give
you an idea of the number and types of classes you have to take for your
degree, but it will also give you some perspective on what you would like to
study and where you would like to travel.

Studying abroad can be a rewarding, educational experience that expands your perspective and enriches your learning experience. If you dream of travel, then make it happen with Dixie State Study Abroad.
