Since 1989, the Dixie Classic has helped students and youth in the St. George, Utah, area achieve their dreams. Put on each year by the Dixie State University Foundation, the Dixie Classic raises funds for Dixie State University scholarships and helps fund the Washington County Diabetic Youth Association and other youth-related organizations and programs in Southern Utah. Through the generous donations of sponsors and participants over nearly 30 years, the Dixie Classic has become a driving engine for many young people in Southern Utah to pursue their passions and live their best lives.
This year marks the 30th year of this great community tradition and organizers for the event are pulling out all of the stops. Dixie State is also elevating to division one in athletics in the summer of 2020. There has never been a greater need to support the athletic program and its athletes as they make this transition.
Golfers will enjoy three days of festivities from November 7-9. Tony Finau will be our guest of honor in this 30th year. Tony currently plays on the PGA tour and is one of the top 10 golfers in the world. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, making him one of the most successful professional athletes to come out of the state of Utah. Tony will be at the tournament to meet our supporters and conduct a clinic on Nov. 8th.
Henry Cho, a world-renowned comedian, will also be performing for many of the golfers the evening of November 8th at 7:30 pm in the Dixie Tech auditorium. His hilarious and family-friendly act will be worth every penny. Tickets are available to the community and can be purchased online for $10 a person here.
This tournament will surely be an unforgettable experience for all who participate. To all our sponsors, donors, and participants over the years, we say, “Thank you!”
