Red Rock Relationships – A Podcast About Communication

By Red Rock Relationships

Happy International Podcast Day, and welcome to Red Rock Relationships (RRR). This podcast is designed to bring all of the most exciting and innovative relationship research to the DSU community in an education and interesting manner. Through a series of 25-minute episodes, students can listen on the app or podcast provider of their choice on their commute to school, at the gym, or even as a getaway from that #studylife.

Over the course of season one of RRR, we will cover 12 topics ranging from the basics of relationships (relationship satisfaction, affection, and intimacy) to some of the most pressing topics that DSU students encounter in their interpersonal relationships (divorce, intractable conflicts, and consent).

The host, Dr. James B. Stein, is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Department at DSU and is the director of the interpersonal curriculum there. Each week he is joined by a guest with special expertise in that day’s topic. From graduate students, to professors, and even self-help book authors, the folks who join RRR each week bring years of training and expertise in the study of relationships. We do also manage to fit a joke or two in there from time to time.

From the host, to the guests, to the production team, everyone who contributes to RRR believes that regardless of your background or history, you will encounter the issues that we talk about on this show. We believe that it’s important to know that not only are the relational struggles in your live valid, but that also you are not alone in experiencing them.

The purpose of this show is to provide a space where members of the DSU community can turn to learn about to best manage the relationships in our lives. Dr. Stein and RRR are produced by A Podcast Studio, a subsidiary of Radio Dixie 91.3FM. You can tune in to each week’s episode on Wednesdays at 3:30pm, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
