Utah Tech University Women’s Wrestling Takes Fourth Place at Nationals

Utah Tech University Women’s Wrestling took fourth place at the 2024 National Collegiate Wrestling Championships in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The championships took place March 14-16, with the team not only taking fourth place but also bringing home four All-Americans, two National Champions, an Outstanding Female Wrestler of the Tournament, five Academic All-Americans, and the third place Collegiate Cup, which is awarded based on combined men’s and women’s performance.

The women’s wrestling team dominated the 2024 season both on and off the mat, maintaining high academic standards and balancing their training with their studies. The team achieved a combined GPA of 3.26.

Utah Tech University’s athletes were awarded the following honors:

Lauren Mills

First place National Champion in 123 lbs weight class, Outstanding Female Wrestler of the Tournament, All-American, Academic All-American

Tayleigh Robertson

First place National Champion in 170 lbs weight class, All-American

Carly Neville

101 lbs, Third place All-American, Academic All-American

Kali Westover

130 lbs, Sixth place All-American, Academic All-American

Ashley Lavarias

155 lbs, top 8, Academic All-American

Alexa Camacho

155 lbs, top 12

Abby French

143 lbs, top 16

Kendra Juarez

170 lbs, top 16, Academic All-American

“I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work these ladies put into their training,” Anderson said. “I have even bigger goals for next year with the recruiting class coming in.”
