Utah Tech Ballroom Students Take the Stage with “MOTION!”

By Natali Fluhman

On April 23, Utah Tech’s ballroom dance team brought their spring concert, MOTION!, to life with a performance that felt both polished and genuinely fun to watch.

The show featured a mix of styles, from classic waltzes to upbeat Latin routines, giving dancers the chance to show their range while keeping the audience engaged from start to finish. Rather than trying to do too much, each piece felt intentional and well-rehearsed, highlighting both technique and personality.

“I couldn't be more excited to support Ballroom at their spring concert,” Amy Gleave, director of the Utah Tech Entertainment Alliance, said. “It's always a showcase of remarkable talent and hard work, and I love the artistry the students bring to the stage.”

What You Don’t See on Stage

Performances like MOTION! don’t come together overnight. Behind every routine are long rehearsals, repeated run-throughs, and a lot of attention to detail. It’s the kind of work where one more practice easily turns into several, and small adjustments make a big difference.

That effort showed. The transitions were smooth, the timing was tight, and the dancers carried themselves with confidence that only comes from putting in the hours.

MOTION! wasn’t just a performance. It was a reflection of a team that’s committed to improving, supporting each other, and continuing to raise the bar each semester.
