Are you interested in hearing about some of the big projects underway at Dixie State University? Learn from President Richard “Biff” Williams at the next installment of the President’s Colleagues of Dixie State University meeting series.
This opportunity will be offered at noon on April 1 in Lecture Hall 156 of Dixie State’s Russell C. Taylor Health Science Center, located on the Dixie Regional Medical Center campus at 1526 East Medical Center Drive. The meeting is free and open to the public.
During his presentation, President Williams will discuss the Utah State Legislature’s decision to allocate $50 million toward building a new Science, Engineering & Technology building and $4.4 million to complete the Human Performance Center. With the new SET building in place, the University can expand its academic offerings to students who are interested in engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, geology, physiology, and genetic counseling. Along with this state-of-the-art building, Dixie State’s Human Performance Center will house a modernized student fitness center and specialized classrooms and labs for health and human performance programs.
President Williams is the 18th President of Dixie State University. He started his term as president in August of 2014. A Brigham City native, Dr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in lifestyle management from Weber State University, a master’s degree in Athletic Training from Indiana State University and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from New Mexico State University. President Williams and his wife Kristin are the parents of five children.
The President’s Colleagues of DSU, established more than 20 years ago by former DSU President Douglas Alder, is a group of retired professors and other professionals. Alder, who also started DSU’s Honors Program, organized the group as a way to increase academic activities on campus.
